Select Mode

Select Mode allows direct interaction with any object in the project for purposes of inspection, modification, or replacement. When activated, the cursor switches to selection behavior and clicking on an object—such as a wall, roof, door, or furniture item—displays a contextual menu. This menu enables access to appearance, measurements, position, and replacement options. For architectural components like walls or roofs, properties such as dimensions, materials, colors, and structural attributes can be adjusted. Functional elements like windows or doors offer swing direction, size, and insertion height.

Select Mode is critical for editing after initial layout. It also allows grouping or layer management in more complex projects, making it easy to adjust similar items across different rooms or levels. Edits made through Select Mode update in real time in both 2D and 3D views, enabling immediate visual feedback. It supports workflows such as fine-tuning a room after auto-generation, customizing facade details, or swapping catalog items without redrawing. Select Mode is also where interactions like duplication, locking, hiding, or deleting objects occur. While in this mode, drawing and placement tools are disabled to prevent unintentional edits. This separation of modes improves workflow clarity, especially in larger or multi-story designs.
